Litzy Nuñez del Prado, course participant: The course was very interesting for me. I’ve learnt a lot of tips about what to do, how to avoid making mistakes and how to make sure that everything I do corresponds with the law. It would be difficult to find my way around myself.

At first, Litzy came to the Czech Republic only to see what the Czech Republic and Europe are like. Litzy’s friend who lives here told Litzy that she was very satisfied here. Litzy has now come back to start working here as an English and Spanish language school teacher.

How did you find the Welcome to the Czech Republic course?

The course was very interesting for me because I’ve learnt a lot of tips about what to do and also how to avoid making mistakes and how to make sure that everything I do corresponds with the law.  It would be difficult to find my way around myself. All the topics covered by the course were interesting for me. What I saw as very important was information about the transition from a visa to a long-term residence permit as well as the issues of health, health care and health insurance. I know what is covered by my insurance and what to be careful about now. But I also enjoyed listening to general information about the Czech Republic, Czech culture, and life here.

Where did you search for information before you came to the course?

To tell the truth, it is very difficult to find reliable information. I’ve been to many places to ask about certain issues but the information I got was not quite clear and it was very difficult for me to know my way around it.

Thanks to the course I’ve learnt that in the Czech Republic there are NGOs and integration centres which offer services to migrants. I’m very glad that I know about them and that if I need help with something, I can contact them.
