Looking back at the courses Welcome to the Czech Republic in 2019

On Saturday 14th December, the course Welcome to the Czech Republic with 11 participants and interpreting into Russian provided took place at the organization Slovo 21. It was the last course in 2019 and at the same time it was the 85th course organized by Slovo 21 in 2019. Participants provided us with a very positive feedback expressing gratitude for the course and referring to it as “very useful,” “perfect” and “amazing”. This course was also the last one with the duration of 8 hours. Since 2020 the courses have had a new format of 4 hours.

The courses Welcome to the Czech Republic were attended by 1246 foreigners in 2019. The courses were provided with interpreting into Russian, English, Ukrainian, Spanish, Arabic, Mongolian, French and Vietnamese. Most of the times, these were courses open to public intended for third-country nationals, and they were organized in cooperation with integration centres and non-governmental non-profit organizations all over the Czech Republic. Other courses organized were intended for compatriots from Ukraine and Latin America or they were organized in cooperation with companies employing foreigners. Last but not least, several courses were organized in cooperation with universities to provide an adaptation and integration course for newcomer students.

The preparations of the project Welcome to the Czech Republic for 2020 are in full swing. You can look forward to a new and shorter version of the course as well as a new language that is to be added to the project – Serbian.
